Fashion is a form of art and no other designer expresses their artistic skills better than Japanese designer Issey Miyake.
The pieces above from his winter 09 collection are literal examples of taking art to clothing, but not just because of the prints that have a water colour, sketch like feeling but also because of the abstract silhouettes. The pieces are beautiful and have an edge of fantasy but in a subtle way. These are collector’s items and pieces that could quite easily fit into an art gallery.
